Yes, this is the second book of Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan, but reader can read The Son of Neptune as a stand alone book and you can still feel the excitement. If you ever read the first book, The Lost Hero, I guarantee that The Son of Neptune is more exciting. Told using alternate 3rd person POV of Percy, Frank and Hazel, the story set around two months after the start of the 1st book.
